We’re assembling the next generation of child advocates. Each spring and summer, emerging professionals join us at our headquarters in beautiful Colorado Springs to gain experience at one of the largest non-profit organizations in the United States.

Our interns use their talents and skills in a variety of departments within our organization, from IT to Global Program to Marketing. We invest in our interns both professionally and personally because we know that their innovative ideas are worth pursuing. Come join us in releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name!

Mission Trips

Our interns have the opportunity to spend one week in Latin America at local Compassion sites. Interns spend time playing with Compassion-sponsored children, serving local church partners, and learning firsthand about the impact that Compassion is having in dozens of countries worldwide. Paired with their work experience at our U.S. headquarters, this energizing trip provides interns with a holistic perspective of Compassion’s ministry.

The mission trip is an optional aspect of the internship, and interns are responsible for raising their own funds. However, we offer various fundraising resources, including an online donation portal, because we believe the trip is foundational to each intern’s experience. Spring and summer interns participate together in the mission trip, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow child advocates. Past intern trips have included the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Nicaragua, Haiti, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Are you ready to embark on this adventure?

Is housing provided?

We offer all interns the opportunity to live in a Compassion-approved host home, typically with a current or former Compassion employee. Each host provides a private bedroom as well as access to laundry and a kitchen. In return, interns pay only $60/week. If interns have their own living arrangements, they are not required to use a host home, but it’s available to anyone who needs one.

Are interns responsible for their own transportation?
