When Compassion opened a new child development center in a remote village of Bangladesh, children in the region were often sick due to unsanitary water conditions.

We quickly organized resources to outfit this center with safe, hygienic toilets – eight total to support the needs of the children. We also worked to bring electricity to this community through the development of a small solar plant.

Today, children who attend this Compassion program have developed strong hygiene skills by using the child development center’s clean bathrooms. We keep on eye on their progress by holding two health screenings each year and continue to work towards building a safe, healthy environment for children to learn and grow.
